​Got this from a patient this morning. Oh, I can handle the tooth! Just so you know...when you are in a dental office to have a tooth extracted, please try to relax. It would be so much easier and quicker because we are trying to keep your mouth open, fight your tongue, lips, cheeks, saliva, control your constant movements, and take your tooth out all while guarding the livelihood of our 8 fingers and 2 thumbs.

​This week we were invited to be one of the resources for Sunnyvale School District event to help families with disabilities.  It was their first annual fair to show support and provide resources for their residents.  The theme was to celebrate the beauty of differences, be it physical or developmental.  They had games, face painting, movies, and projects for students to see how different a visually impaired person sees the world or how fun a wheelchair can maneuver obstacles.  They also provided lots of freebies, including food and drinks.   We could smell the hot dogs and hamburgers from our table but couldn't get ourselves to go over to sample.  It was sheer willpower on my part.  Jessica was just focus on our presentation.  She was very professional as my eyes followed every plate that passed by with brownies, cookies or watermelon on it.  We met parents, students and lots of other professionals wanting to know more about sedation dentistry.  As we sat and mingled, we were reminded of our blessings.  Our able bodies with normal speech and decent eyesight allow us to do what we want, when we want and how we want it done independently.    That is something we tend to take for granted.  So here's cheers to normalcy.   We love being "normal".  We also love being different for it adds to the beauty of our world.

​My studious 3 y.o. studying at 6:30am.  The room was dark.  Needing a glimpse of light, he found it from the nightlight.  I asked him why he didn’t just go back to his own bedroom and turn the light on, he replied,  “Mommy, I want to be with you.”  So I turned on the light for him.  The little guy melted my heart.
